The Seven Knightly Virtues were an order of Holy Knights originally formed in the great Kingdom of Liones by seven diamond ranked Holy Knights. Their main duty was to protect the kingdom and the royal family.
Their members consist of some of the most powerful Holy Knights in the kingdom that had each carved the symbol of a beast into their bodies.
Background[]
The Seven Knightly Virtues were formed with the sole purpose of protecting the royal family and the kingdom. Meliodas, worried for the lives of the king and queen when the sins were away, persuaded King Bartra to form a new group of seven diamond rank Holy Knights.
Meliodas and Merlin themselves helped the king choose the four knights for the virtues. Meliodas had recommended Espn and Gwyn and Merlin had chosen the sisters Iseult and Enide.
Originally, Bartra and Meliodas had wanted Gwyn to be the leader; but he had turned it down for the simple fact that he believed that Espn would be a much better leader than he. After the Sins were framed for the murder of Zaratras, the virtues were constantly sent out to deal with possible sightings of the rogue sins instead of dealing with the kingdom.
